To support NSW regional, rural, and remote teachers in the teaching of STEM subjects, the University of Sydney’s STEM Teacher Enrichment Academy is offering up to 100 bursaries. Generous sponsors are offering a limited number of bursaries, including for Sydney schools.
Each bursary is specific, and could cover some or all of the below:
✔ Two nights’ accommodation (up to $250 per night)
✔ Conference registration (could include conference dinner)
✔ Travel contribution (if required and capped)
✔ Teacher relief contribution (if required and capped)
Bursaries will be paid directly to the recipient’s school.
To apply, teachers must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), which will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- School classification.
- Previous STEM participation, including programs such as:
- STEM Teacher Enrichment Academy (Regional)
- STEM Teacher Enrichment Academy (Sydney)
- NSW Premier’s University of Sydney Mathematics Scholarship
- Academies of STEM Excellence
- NSW Virtual STEM Academy
- Prime Minister’s Prizes
- Generation STEM
- Other relevant STEM programs
- School’s ICSEA value.
- Potential impact of attendance on the school.
- How learnings from the festival will be shared.
CSIRO Generation STEM Bursary
The CSIRO Generation STEM program is also offering 12 additional bursaries for teachers involved in their programs. These bursaries cover:
✔ Accommodation, travel, and registration
✔ Teacher relief costs
This bursary follows similar selection criteria and is also open to participants from Sydney.
